Citizen Corp

After September 11, 2001, America witnessed a wellspring of selflessness and heroism.  People from all walks of life and every corner of the country asked, “What can I do?” and “How can I help?” Citizen Corps was created to help all Americans answer these questions through public education and outreach, training, and volunteer service.

Our top priority is to establish a county Citizen Corps Council, assist them with the development of community outreach programs.

The Citizen Corps Mission is “To have everyone participate in making America safer”.

Citizen Corps harnesses the power of every individual through education, training, and volunteer service to make communities safer, stronger, and better prepared to respond to threats of all kinds.

Currently, there are five federal programs that make up Citizen Corps and Affiliates

USAonWatch—Neighborhood Watch Program— (NWP)

Volunteers in Police Service—(VIPS)

Community Emergency Response Training— (CERT)

Medical Reserve Corps—(MRC)
